Former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich: "We went through this in 2011, with regard to the debt ceiling. The financial markets reacted very badly, most voters and the financial markets blamed the Republicans -- the Republicans were the ones who were threatening the full faith and credit of the United States. They don't want to do this again and if they do try to do it again, if I were the president, I'd say forget it. I'd just raise the debt ceiling automatically. It's not in the Constitution, there are no legislative requirements with regard to all of this. Just do it."
