RNC Chairman Priebus: Fight Over Gay Marriage Not Jim Crow
“I think there’s a big difference between people that have been murdered and everything else that has come with Jim Crow than marriage between a man and a man and a woman and a woman," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said about likening the fight to legalize gay marriage to the Jim Crow-era in the South.
"People, in this country, no matter straight or gay deserve dignity and respect. However, that doesn't mean it carries over onto marriage. And I think most Americans agree, that in this country as a legal and historical and religious union that marriage has to have the definition of one man and on woman," Priebus added.
