Obama Criticizes Media For Focusing On Controversies At Summit
President Obama slammed the media for their coverage of the Summit of the Americas meeting he attended this past weekend in Colombia. Obama criticized the press for what he views as focusing on controversies rather than aiming their attention on the diplomatic process.
Obama is likely referring to allegations of U.S. Secret Service agents soliciting the services of prostitutes while in the South American country.
"So there are a number of areas where I think cooperation is proceeding," Obama said during his remarks to the CEO Summit of the Americas. "Sometimes it's not flashy. I think that oftentimes in the press the attention in summits like this ends up focusing on where are the controversies. Sometimes those controversies date back to before I was born."
