Zbigniew Brzezinski: The point we have to bear in mind I think more clearly is that our wish has to have some relationship to reality. That is to say that we can't expect the regime to be transformed overnight into really full-blown democracy. When we say to him the transition "must" begin now, with the operative word being "must", not even should begin now, but "must". We are dictating. And what are we dictating? That's not going to go over very well with a country with a rich history, genuine pride and a very important role in the Middle East. I think we have to be a little more subtle and a little more patient.
