President Barack Obama meets at the White House today with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen (AHN'-derz FOHG RAHS'-moo-sihn).
The likely topic of discussion: Afghanistan.
Rasmussen said Monday "things are going to have to change" in Afghanistan for the United States and its international allies to win the stalemated war. He stopped short of calling for more combat troops to be sent to Afghanistan, as the Obama administration currently is debating.
President and Vice President Joe Biden will meet Tuesday afternoon with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.
The White House says the president is scheduled to meet with his national security team on Afghanistan on Wednesday.
